Primary and Secondary School Education

Australian schools offer a wide range of subjects, highly trained and experienced teachers, and the use of state of the art technology and specialised laboratories.

Australian schools are world leaders in the application of technology to education. They aim to develop the individual talents of young students in a safe, caring and culturally diverse environment.

All schools that accept international students provide, or have access to, specialist English language programs. The multi-cultural nature of Australian society means that other students readily accept international students and that teachers are experienced in teaching classes with students from many different countries.

International students have been enrolling in Australian secondary schools since the 1950s and there are currently more than 28,000 international students in Australian schools.

By completing his or her secondary schooling in Australia a student will have direct access to any Australian University or other higher education institution.

AMES tends to recommend schools which offer the International Baccalaureate, since successful completion of the IB opens the doors to any University in the world.
